Scripture: Daniel 7-9. Click here to view full scripture.
Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
As we begin Daniel Chapter 7, Daniel had a dream of four different beasts. Each beast represented a world empire, and these nations were wicked, cruel, and ruled over Israel. However, God’s indestructible kingdom would conquer all the other nations. Daniel saw God judging many people as they stood before Him, God Almighty. Daniel then had a vision involving a ram and a goat, and the interpretation followed. Daniel constantly prayed to God. Daniel confessed his own sins, and he pleaded with God to bring the people to their land, as He had promised. Follow along in Daniel 7-9!
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
In Daniel’s dream of the four beasts, he saw God’s eternal, indestructible kingdom arrive and conquer all of the other nations. God was illustrating the end of all of the worldly kingdoms in contrast to His beautiful, everlasting, eternal kingdom. One day, we will all stand before our Heavenly Father and give an account of our lives. We must live each day like it is our last, behaving and treating others how God would approve, for we will all stand before Him one day. We live in a fallen world, and persecution is constant; however, we can look forward to the day where all believers will possess His beautiful kingdom where we will live with Him forever. We must endure and persevere through the rough days of this life; there is much to look forward to! We must never give up our faith or lose hope, for God is with us, and His power and justice will prevail. We must be sure to confess our sins to God, asking for forgiveness daily. We can always talk to God with openness and honesty; He is always listening. We should also be ready for His reply. 🙂 When we are struggling in life through difficult circumstances, we can ask ourselves if there is reason for God to send judgment. If we believe so, we can ask God for His mercy and forgiveness, opening the door for Him to help and carry us through our battles. He is our protector, and He will guide us in the right direction(s) if we ask Him to. Just as God answered Daniel’s prayers, we can be sure that He is listening to us, will listen to our cries for help, and answer our prayers, as well. We must make sure to thank Him for all that He does and all that He is on a daily basis. God is so good!
