Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
God had His perfect timing when His son Jesus was to be born. Jesus lived an amazing life, helping and loving on others, he died for us, ascended to Heaven to be with His Father, and will one day return to save us all! Follow along in Luke 2:1-20, as we continue our “30-Day Walk with Jesus” series!
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
God brought His son Jesus into the world in humble surroundings. It was not an easy road for Mary and Joseph; however, it strengthened them. When we do God’s will, we are not promised that everything will go smoothly in our lives. The bumps in the road will strengthen us, as well. God will guide us and provide for our needs, and we can trust that our Heavenly Father is in control. God is at work wherever He is needed in this world, and we should not limit Him based upon our expectations. God wants us to spend time with Him in prayer and in His Word every day, staying near to Him. God accepts each and every one of us just the way we are; He also forgives us when we fail. Our God is an awesome God, and we must thank Him on a daily basis for everything that He has done for us.
Prayer: What can we pray for in regards to these passages?
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the examples and stories that You have placed in Your Word for us to learn from. Father, we know that we are sinners, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Please help us to forgive others who have hurt us and make things right with those we hurt. Please help us to love others, just like you love us. Please help us to always follow Your ways for us, obeying and praising You through all circumstances in our lives. And when we do face consequences for our sins, please draw us back to You, Father. Please help us to love and obey You wholeheartedly. Please be with those who have rejected You, and help them to return to You, Father, before judgement. Please help us to draw near to You, and please protect us from giving in to the pressures of this fallen world. We want to live Godly lives. When we face struggles in this life, Father, please help us to call upon You. We thank You for Your son Jesus who died to free us from the slavery of our sins. Thank You for the promise of one day living in eternity with You. You are an awesome God, Father, and we thank You for everything! Please guide and protect us, our friends, families, pets, and our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering. We love You and thank You for everything. – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
