Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
Jesus breathed his last breath and died on the cross for the sins of the world. Joseph, an honored man of the Jewish Council, cared for Jesus and wanted to give him a proper burial. The Galilean women brought spices ad perfume to the tomb, but Jesus had risen! Follow along in Luke 23:44-24:12, as we continue our “30-Day Walk with Jesus” series!
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
God sent His son Jesus to die for the sins of the world; now all people can approach our Heavenly Father though Jesus. The Galilean women were very devoted to Jesus, and they were the first to learn of Jesus’ resurrection. Sometimes, as believers, we may feel as though we cannot do much for God. However, we are called to take advantage of the opportunities that are given to us to serve our Heavenly Father, doing what He has called us to do, and helping others. Because Jesus died for us, death has been conquered. We, too, will one day be raised from the dead to live forever in eternity with God, His son Jesus, and our loved ones.
Prayer: What can we pray for in regards to these passages?
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the examples and stories that You have placed in Your Word for us to learn from. Father, we know that we are sinners, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Please help us to forgive others who have hurt us and make things right with those we hurt. Please help us to love others, just like you love us. Help us to always be honest people, and let our attitudes and actions be pleasing to You, Father. Please help us to always follow Your ways for us, obeying and praising You through all circumstances in our lives. Please help us to love and obey You wholeheartedly. Please be with those who have rejected You, and help them to return to You, Father, before judgement. Please help us to draw near to You, and please protect us from giving in to the pressures of this fallen world. We want to live Godly lives. Please cure the world from sicknesses, diseases, and disabilities. When we face struggles in this life, Father, please help us to call upon You. Help us to put our complete trust and faith in You, Father, for we know that You will work out Your plan. We thank You for Your son Jesus who died to free us from the slavery of our sins. Thank You for the promise of one day living in eternity with You. Please guide and protect us, our friends, families, pets, and our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering. We love You and thank You for everything. – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
