Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
Paul points out in the Book of Romans that death is the result of Adam’s sin and of all the sins that we commit. We were each born into Adam’s family, and we all have to reap the result(s) of his sin. However, because of Jesus, we can trade judgment for forgiveness, choosing to follow our Heavenly Father. Follow along in Romans 5:12-21, as we continue our “30-Day Walk with Jesus” series!
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
We are all sinners, and we all fall short daily; we are all judged for the sins that we commit and held responsible for our own wrongs. Since we are a part of Adam’s family, we have inherited the tendency to sin. When we are convicted of sin, we must repent and turn to our Heavenly Father, asking for forgiveness. We must be sure to thank Him for the wonderful gift of His son Jesus. We are all now freed from the slavery of our sins!
Prayer: What can we pray for in regards to these passages?
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the examples and stories that You have placed in Your Word for us to learn from. Father, we know that we are sinners, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Please help us to forgive others who have hurt us and make things right with those we hurt. Please help us to love others, just like you love us. Help us to always be honest people, and let our attitudes and actions be pleasing to You, Father. Please help us to always follow Your ways for us, obeying and praising You through all circumstances in our lives. Please help us to love and obey You wholeheartedly. Please be with those who have rejected You, and help them to return to You, Father, before judgement. Please help us to draw near to You, and please protect us from giving in to the pressures of this fallen world. We want to live Godly lives. Please cure the world from sicknesses, diseases, and disabilities. When we face struggles in this life, Father, please help us to call upon You. Help us to put our complete trust and faith in You, Father, for we know that You will work out Your plan. We thank You for Your son Jesus who died to free us from the slavery of our sins. Thank You for the promise of one day living in eternity with You. Please guide and protect us, our friends, families, pets, and our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering. We love You and thank You for everything. – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
