Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
Because of God sending His son Jesus to die for us, we are declared not guilty and offered freedom from our sin and power to do God’s will. The Spirit of Life is the Holy Spirit, and he is the force behind every reborn believer. In the Book of Romans, Paul divides people into two different categories – those who are overpowered by their sinful nature and those who are lead by the Holy Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is the work of the Holy Spirit within us, characteristics that God wants us to have. Follow along in Romans 8:1-17 and Galatians 5:16-26, as we continue our “30-Day Walk with Jesus” series!
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
Without God and His son Jesus, we would have no hope at all. But we can thank our Heavenly Father, for He has freed us from the slavery of our sins, waiting with open arms for His children to turn back to Him. All of us would be dominated by our sinful nature if it weren’t for Jesus dying for us. Now we have hope, and we must center our lives on our Heavenly Father. God wants us to flee from our temptations in life, always following Him and His ways for our lives. “God has already given us His best gifts – His son Jesus, His Holy Spirit, forgiveness, and eternal life.” God knows our every need, and He encourages us to ask Him for whatever we need. We must stand up for our Heavenly Father, no matter what we face. Our God is an awesome God, and He is always with us. “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” – Galatians 5:22-23
