Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
In the Book of Leviticus, we read about punishments for sin under the law. God warned against looking to the occult, spirits and mediums, etc., for guidance, for only He knows what the future holds for His children. Leviticus 10-21 lists detestable acts, the harsh punishments for these sins under God’s law, and the reasons why God has zero tolerance for such acts. Follow along in Leviticus 20:7-27, as we continue our “30-Day Walk with Jesus” series!
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
God’s Word is trustworthy. Yes, everyone is usually curious about what the future holds, but only God knows what the future holds for us. God has given us the Bible so that we can gain the information that we need. We can trust Him completely with our lives and our futures. God loves us and wants what is best for each and every one of us. He has good reasons for why He prohibits sexual sins; God wants us to maintain sexual purity in our lives. God is a loving, wonderful Father, and we must always remember that He forgives us and washes our sins clean. We must thank Him for sending Jesus to die for our sins. God is always there for us, and He knows our hurts and needs. He knows everything about each one of us, for He is our amazing Creator.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the examples and stories that You have placed in Your Word for us to learn from. Father, we know that we are sinners, and we ask for Your forgiveness. Please help us to forgive others who have hurt us and make things right with those we hurt. Please help us to maintain sexual purity in our lives. Please help us to always follow Your ways for us, obeying and praising You through all circumstances in our lives. Please help us to love and obey You wholeheartedly. Please be with those who have rejected You, and help them to return to You, Father, before judgement. Please help us to draw near to You, and please protect us from giving in to the pressures of this fallen world. We want to live Godly lives. When we face struggles in this life, Father, please help us to call upon You. We thank You for Your son Jesus who died to free us from the slavery of our sins. Thank You for the promise of one day living in eternity with You. Please guide and protect us, our friends, families, pets, and our brothers and sisters around the world who are suffering. We love You and thank You for everything. – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
