Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
Remember, the tribe of Levi was set apart to serve God in the Tabernacle. Aaron, a descendant of Levi, then became Israel’s first high priest. God had required all future priests to be the descendants of Aaron. Follow along in 1 Chronicles 6 as this chapter in the Bible describes more of the genealogies of the nation of Israel and of God’s work in the world.
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
Today’s scriptures demonstrate that God is interested not only in nations but also in each individual person. There have been many people who have lived since the beginning and Adam, and God knows and remembers each and every one of them. Each of us are more than just a name or a number to God; He knows and loves us more than we could ever imagine. The builders and craftsmen had built and completed the Tabernacle, and the priests and the Levites were given certain responsibilities to take proper care of it. God has given us all unique talents and strengths. Be sure to use those talents and gifts to honor and serve God. We must always obey God, taking the very steps that He wants us to in life. The instructions that God gives us right now may seem to be irrelevant to us at the moment; however, we will be able to see the importance and relevance of those instructions as God reveals His plan(s) to us. Be sure to read through the genealogies of Israel covered in these next few chapters.
