Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
After the Tabernacle was set up and dedicated to God (anointed and consecrated), the leaders of the twelves tribes brought gifts and offerings for the use and maintenance of the Tabernacle. The Tabernacle was for the Israelites to worship God, so all of the people participated in the ceremony. Then Moses entered the Tent of Meeting to speak with the Lord.
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
Moses got to hear God’s voice. We have God’s words recorded for us in the Bible, and we should have no less honor for them. God also sometimes spoke directly to His people, giving them directions for the proper way to live. By reading these conversations in the Bible, we can get some insight into God’s character. Just like Moses did, we also have the opportunity to talk to God, but God answers us differently. God speaks to us through the Bible and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We should seek to know God just as closely as Moses did.
Prayer: What can we pray for in regards to these passages?
Heavenly Father, thank You for this beautiful day that You have given to us. Thank You for the examples that are written in the Bible for us to follow. Please protect us and guide us in life, and help us to draw near to You like Moses did. Please forgive us for our sins, and help us to treat others how we want to be treated. We love You and thank You. – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
