Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
The Lord told Moses to speak with Aaron and give him directions on how to set up the seven lamps for the Tabernacle. Moses was then told to take the Levites from among the other Israelites and to make them ceremonially clean, to purify them. The Israelites celebrated the second Passover. God guided and protected the Israelites as they traveled across the desert by providing a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. The Israelites traveled and camped, as God guided them.
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
When we follow God’s guidance, we know that we are exactly where God wants us to be, whether we are traveling or staying in one place. We can start by asking God what He wants us to do for Him right in the here and now. He has a direct path for each of us and will guide us to the next step when it is the right time. The Israelites were constantly moving through the desert, and they were able to handle change only because God’s presence in the Tabernacle was always with them. We can be assured of our stability by moving with God in every circumstance.
Prayer: What can we pray for in regards to these passages?
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the examples that are written in the Bible for us to follow. Please protect us and guide us in life, and show us what You want us to do for You right at the present time. We know that You have a direct path for each of our lives, and sometimes we grow impatient. Please help us to draw near to You and wait for You to guide us. Help us to move with You in every circumstance that we encounter in life. Please forgive us for our sins, and help us to treat others how we want to be treated. We love You and thank You. – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
