Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
The Lord had chosen Bezalel to create the artistic craftsmanship for the Tabernacle. Oholiab and Bezalel were both given the ability to teach others the same tasks and the ability to do all kinds of work for the Tabernacle. God had given specific instructions in fine detail about how to build the Tabernacle, the Ark, the Table, the Lampstand, and Altar of Incense, the Altar of Burnt Offering, Basin for Washing, the Courtyard, and the Priestly Garments. In building the Tabernacle, Moses laid out the steps God wanted them to follow, and Ithamar supervised the project. The Israelites had given their offerings to God, as He had told them to, in order to build the Tabernacle.
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
Moses obeyed God’s every command. God didn’t ask Moses to build the Tabernacle, but He wanted Moses to motivate the experts to do it. In what areas has God gifted you? We should look for the areas that God has gifted us and then seek out the opportunities to allow Him to use our gifts. The Tabernacle was completed in exact detail. God is interested in every detail of our lives, as well. He knows the number of hairs on each one of our heads. We should not be afraid to talk with Him about any of our daily concerns, no matter how unimportant they may seem. God loves us and wants to be a part of our lives.
Prayer: What can we pray for in regards to these passages?
Heavenly Father, please help us to communicate openly with You, about anything and everything, all of our worries and fears. Please let us know that You are near. Please forgive us for the many sins that we have committed, and help us to turn away from the sins of the world. Thank You for gifting each one of us in different things. Help us to use those gifts that You have given to us, looking for opportunities to allow You to use our gifts. We know that You are very interested in every detail of our lives. Help us not to be afraid to talk with You, for we know that You love us and are concerned for us. We love You and thank You – in Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
