Observation: What was going on in the Bible at this time?
God had given specific instructions in fine detail about how to build the Tabernacle, the Ark, the Table, the Lampstand, and Altar of Incense, the Altar of Burnt Offering, Basin for Washing, the Courtyard, and all the Priestly Garments, including the Ephod and the Breastpiece. The Israelites had done all the work just how God had told Moses, and the Tabernacle was complete. Then the Lord instructed Moses on how to set up the Tabernacle. After they had done all that God had instructed, the cloud covered over the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of God filled the Tabernacle. Whenever the cloud would lift, the Israelites would set out with their travels, but when the cloud was over the tabernacle, they stayed where they were.
Application: How can we apply this to our lives?
The Tabernacle was completed in exact detail. God is interested in every detail of our lives, as well. He knows the number of hairs on each one of our heads. We should not be afraid to talk with Him about any of our daily concerns, no matter how unimportant they may seem. God loves us and wants to be a part of our lives. Moses was a great leader; he gave plans and directions while letting others participate on the team. When we play the roles of leaders, we should trust our assistants with key responsibilities, as well. We should then show our appreciation to those people who have carried out their responsibilities and helped with the tasks. When God instructs us to do something, we should follow the example of Moses and do the task right and do it completely, always putting our best efforts into the project. Through all of the instructions that God gave to Moses and the Israelites, they persevered and built the Tabernacle as God had commanded them to do. We, too, should always persevere and put forth our best efforts, trusting that God will guide us and help us along the way.
