Today I am thankful for the little things in life…
…the smell of the fall leaves burning, bonfires, the warm morning sunshine through the window, the leaves changing vibrant colors on the trees, a smile from a stranger or from my significant other, a small gesture of kindness from someone who loves you, music, picnics, big hugs, the smell after a fresh rain or mowing of the grass, a small victory, the humor of pets, hug and a kiss from my spouse, snuggling, nice long walks, spending time with my niece and nephews, warm clothes straight from the dryer, a new recipe that comes out just right, flowers you didn’t expect, the perfect milk-to-cereal ratio, the first bite of food you are craving, a crisp and cool Dr. Pepper over a heaping glass of ice, a beautiful rainbow in the sky, a genuine compliment, handwritten letters, the peaceful site of fluttering butterflies around the garden, an extra half hour of sleep – these are just a FEW of my favorites. 🙂 But, trust me, there are many many more little things in life to be thankful for.
You see, God tells us to be thankful in all that we do, to give thanks in all circumstances.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! – Psalm 107:1
Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, … – Ephesians 5:20
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. – James 1:17
That my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! – Psalm 30:12
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. – Colossians 3:17
Appreciate the little things. There are so many.
Today I am thankful for the little things in life that God gives us to enjoy.
